What conditions does

Dr Bray treat?

Conditions treated include:

  • Skin cancer
  • Basal Cell Carcinoma
  • Squamous Cell Carcinoma
  • Actinic (solar) keratosis
  • Melanoma
  • Moles
  • Eczema

What does a consultation include?

Consultations include a full check of any moles or lesions with dermoscopy, a thorough check of your skin and a treatment plan if further treatment is required

Do you do mole mapping?

Yes and No. Dr Bray will check all your moles with dermoscopy and may take photos of any that need monitoring. We will store any photos securely and send them to you if you would like.

Effectively, this is one type of ‘mole mapping’ but the term also often refers to a nurse-led service using a machine to photograph your moles, and the computer decides if they are a worry or not. We do not do that.

Why might a face to face mole check be better than a machine or remote option?

We are often asked for our thoughts on mole mapping scans and machines. These can be a useful way to monitor moles, particularly if you have a very high number of abnormal moles. However, with these clinics or apps you usually see a nurse with a machine, and anything flagged as abnormal would then need to be seen by a specialist like Dr Bray in any case, for confirmation and treatment.

This means that you could end up paying twice, and could suffer unnecessary anxiety while waiting for a specialist opinion.

You may prefer to cut out the ‘middle man’.

How much do procedures cost?

If a procedure is required, we will give you a full quotation following your consultation. This will outline both the hospital fee and Dr Bray’s fee, giving you the total cost for everything.

See the page tab above for the full list of fees. The total will depend on size, complexity and the time a procedure will take.

Do you do same day procedures?

Except where there has been a direct referral from a colleague we do not usually arrange same day procedures. It is really important for you to have time to consider what is right for you. The common exception is cryotherapy for skin tags or small lesions.
